This event will focus on broadening the knowledge of sustainability in Italian Fashion. Guests will include:

This event will be focused on legal expert, Helga Hejny. She will discuss fashion, sustainability and the law by exploring how fast fashion impacts international human rights protection. In addition, she will explore the reality of global fashion production, the use of developing countries and what that may mean for human rights.

Who Made Your Clothes? An Equitable & Innovative Force Workforce by Made in NYC

This event will be focused on finding pathways towards a more equitable fashion industry. This will involve looking into innovative worker-ownership models and the role of homemaking during COVID. A special lens is placed on NYC’s fashion sector, the influence of BIPOC women in it and how the fashion industry is at a crossroads.

‘Raw Tag’: An Interactive Workshop by ARU

This event will be focused on excess textile waste produced by UK consumers and how that problem is fueled by fast fashion and a throw-away mindset. Dr Beatriz Acevedo and Carmen Lamberti will feature RawTag as a solution to this problem. This is an art and sustainability project that explores loving clothing, the story of our garments and how to act responsibly.

Sustainable Fashion by Aberdeen Climate Action 

This event will be focused on ways our fashion habits can be made more sustainable. Speakers will include:

This event will be focused on learning simple but powerful ways to transform your wardrobe. The webinar will provide a short history of issues in the fashion industry, detail what individuals can do to be part of the solution and present a local enterprise that will provide tips around vintage and second-hand shopping.

Foundation series: Ready to become a sustainable fashion entrepreneur? by Italian Artisan

This event will cover how to build a premium, direct-to-customer “Made In Italy” brand. This will include explaining how to approach a new fashion venture, how to create a sustainable business, how to produce in Italy and how to lower risks with cutting-edge strategies to start selling.

Exploring the Future of Fashion by ARU

This event will host a conversation about the future of fashion with two ARU Cambridge School of Art graduates. Sarah Strachan will speak about the impact of fashion on the environment, and the need for innovation within the industry. In addition, Bruno Dias will discuss his own research into the importance of fashion and identity, and why brands are seeking to become more sustainable. They will then discuss what the future of fashion could look like.

Sustainability and Fashion: A Designer’s Perspective by ARU

This event invites you to learn about the fashion industry through the perspective of the designer, Dr. Wendy Moore. She is a lecturer for ARU’s BA Fashion Design course and her current research is on buyer and wearer behavior. Wendy examines the relationship between emotions, self-concept, memories and body perception/deception.

Virtual sustainable fashion catwalk by ARU

This event will showcase a prerecorded catwalk of ARY students and graduates most sustainable fashion outfits. In addition, you will have the opportunity to hear from sustainable fashion experts to help you get started on your sustainable journey.
